Translucent light-pink sheaf-like pearly heulandite-Ca crystals up to 2.5 cm in length sit atop earthy white mordenite on a dark green metabasalt matrix. No damage.
Some of the finest heulandites ever found have recently come out of John Cornish’s Rat’s Nest Claim in central Idaho. This is a nice one – undamaged light salmon-pink crystals growing on white mordenite. See Rocks & Minerals, Volume 76, Number 2, page 113 for a short summary of the discovery and early collecting at this site.
