This is a very aesthetic, flowerlike cluster of purple amethyst crystals averaging about 1.2 cm across, perched on a matrix of white and colorless drusy quartz. Most of the amethysts are double-terminated short prismatic crystals, with the tip of the bottom termination attached to matrix. There is some internal fracturing in some amethyst crystals and some damage to the drusy quartz matrix and around the edges where the piece was attached to the pocket, but overall this is an uncommon and beautiful matrix specimen from this locality.
