WULFENITE, MIMETITE, CALCITE on LIMONITE
Ojuela Mine, Level 7, Los Compaños Vein
Municipio de Mapimí
Huarochiri Province
Durango, Mexico

Cabinet (9.2 x 8.8 x 6.0 cm)

Outstandingly colorful specimen from the recent 2007 find, consisting of stubby rectangular translucent butterscotch wulfenite crystals to 0.4 cm, lime-green spherical mimetite and white rhombohedral calcite crystals filling vugs in limonite. The area of the mine where these came from is now flooded - get one of these while you can, as there will likely be no more! An excellent summary of this deposit is found in the special Mexico II issue of Mineralogical Record, Vol. 34, No. 5, September – October, 2003.

All Measurements are in centimeters; 1 inch equals approximately 2.5 centimeters.
