MALACHITE Pseudomorphs After AZUIRTE

Small Cabinet (7.0 x 4.2 x 3.0 cm)

This piece is from recent finds in 2008, and consists of a cluster of dark green, rounded fibrous malachite pseudomorphs after original azurite crystals to 3 cm in length. Damage-free and very aesthetic. A small amount of chrysocolla can also be seen at the base of the specimen. A good article on the Milpillas Mine can be found in the Mineralogical Record , Volume 39, Number 6 (November - December, 2008), pages 25 – 34.
