This is a nice small specimen of agatized colonial coral, consisting of tea-colored translucent chalcedony with a botryoidal agate interior, partially over-coated with white to light blue common opal. Fluorescent yellow under longwave and shortwave UV light. Collected from lower Miocene clays of the Hawthorn Group. Sold as a polished, matched pair.
