This is a rare specimen from the long-closed “Perry” North Florida locality which was open briefly during the early 1970’s. This is a nice banded blue-gray-colorless chalcedony pseudomorph after coral (aragonite), with internal voids coated with iron-stained common opal. Fluorescent yellow under longwave and shortwave UV light. Collected from the St. Marks Formation (lower Miocene). Sold as a polished, matched pair.
